News - Hebron Engage v2.05 - The most exciting version to date !
(Update 11 September 2006)
only 7 days to go.......to what?
The Release Date of v2.05 on 18 September 2006
What's been happening since July?
The Development Team has been working around the clock to incorporate the many extra features you wanted, as well as correcting over 120 issues which inevitably come with a completely new product.
Speed-wise, it is the fastest version so far.
So what exactly is new in Hebron Engage?
In 7 daily reports from today until 18 September, we will reveal the top new features.
Today's Top New Program Features are,
- Academic Year Rollover Wizard - allows pupils to be uplifted from their current classes into new classes for the new academic year using a simple but effective wizard to guide the process.
- New Pupil Information Panels - you'll like this one. Lots more information on the main pupil screens in one place. The new 'Panels' are very deliberately similar to the ones we used in Double First in order to establish some familiarity to the users. The 'Panels' now show really useful information such as Parents' address and details, medical information, user defined fields and a new first aid book.
Five schools form the basis of a close knit team involved in every part of the Hebron Engage development.
Rumours....
We regularly hear of rumours which are simply untrue. Can we please make the following quite clear? The truth is that,
- Hebron's CSU is NOT based in India. The CSU is, and always will be, in Yeovil.
- Hebron Engage is NOT DOS based. The program is completely new, and written in C# using Microsoft's .NET Framework 2 technology.
- Hebron Engage uses an SQL database, and NOT Access. Therefore, when Microsoft introduces their new Windows Vista and ceases to support Access, Hebron Engage will not be affected.
- Double First is NOT being phased out. In fact, for those who do not need Hebron Engage, Double First remains current, up to date and very powerful. Double First is undergoing its own development plan.
