Double First Development Partners
meet at The Donnington Valley Hotel |

The Double First Development Partners had an excellent conference at the Donnington Valley Hotel, Newbury, today,
The purpose was to pool ideas on how best to develop the Double First suite to suit the needs of schools today.
Who attended?
Eight delegates from six different size schools met with Hebron's Chairman, MD, FD, Operations Manager, and the Senior Developer in charge of Double First.
What was on the Agenda?
After the Introductions, Jeff Elliott, MD, who chaired the conference, asked delegates to describe what parts of which programs they each used.
Naturally, this led to a number of issues and irritations the delegates had with the programs.
Revelation
Out of date
At this point, it became apparent that no-one was running the latest program versions, and in some cases, versions were three years out of date! This was accepted by Hebron as being their fault in not communicating effectively with their customers.
But it can do it
In many cases it was realised that in fact the programs could do what was being asked.
Training
It was quickly realised that lack of product knowledge was a major issue and that additional training was key to getting the best from the software.
Website
Although it was accepted Hebron had not been communicating effectively with customers, Piers du Pré demonstrated how the website should be used as a rich source of up to date customer information.
Delegates were introduced to the power of the website's World of Hebron area including the rich resource of Frequently Asked Questions, Release Notes and free Program Upgrades.
Direction
After lunch, two interlinked sessions were held. First was what was specifically liked about the Double First suite, and second, what would be really helpful to have developed.
Each idea was discussed at length. From this, the development plan will shortly be agreed and announced.
Comments
Mark Bailey, Yarrells Preparatory School, said, 'Thanks for such a useful and fruitful day. I have already started to act on all the seeds of knowledge I collected.'
Kevin Barry, James Allen Girls' School, said, 'A very useful day.'
Jan Finch, Milbourne Lodge Junior School, said, 'Thank you to Jeff, Piers, Kieran, Carole & Simon for a very informative day.'
David Loader, Godstowe Preparatory School, said, 'Totally agree. Very useful day. Thanks to all from du Pré & Hebron. We look forward to being involved in the future development of Double First.'
Kate Allies, Upton House School, said, 'I'll join the chorus to say that I too got a lot out of the day and look forward to getting even more (and giving too of course) in the coming months. Thank you very much to all of you at Hebron and du Pré.'
Kieran Millar, Hebron's FD said, 'I was very encouraged with the affirmation that we have the fundamentals of Double First absolutely right. It's an extremely firm foundation to build upon. Some great suggestions for enhancements came out of the day. In fact, the only disappointment was how we've failed over the last few years to communicate our plans with our customers. This will change.'
Jeff Elliott, Hebron's MD said, 'Over the course of the day a wealth of valuable product information was gathered which will be invaluable in helping with future development.'
